FCA May Keep Truck Output In Mexico

Fiat Chrysler is reportedly reconsidering a decision to stop making Ram heavy-duty trucks at a plant in Mexico. An earlier announcement in January said the production would be sent to the Warren Truck Plant.

The Reuters news agency says the decision would allow FCA to boost production capacity of other truck models as the company tried to boost sales of Ram trucks.

It was not clear if a $1 billion investment to modernize the Warren plant is in jeopardy.
Fiat Chrysler’s new CEO Mike Manley told Reuters that Ram production will have to increase, and that a combination of Warren and Mexico may be required.
