Detroit Gives Thanks With Prayers, Turkey, Parade

The city of Detroit  putting its best foot forward with the annual America’s Thanksgiving Parade.

It’s the 92nd year for the parade.

Jim Nantz – the main voice of CBS Sports –  the grand marshal for parade. Nantz  rolls down Woodward in the special grand marshall car and then ride into Ford Field to do the CBS coverage of the game between the Lions and the Bears.

Other celebrities  include former Tigers hall of fame pitcher Jack Morris and this years Boston marathon winner Desiree Linden, who is from Washington Township.

Members of the late Aretha Franklin’s family also were in the parade.

The theme of this year’s parade is ART! HEART & SOUL! to commemorate the life and legacy of longtime parade supporter Art Van Elslander.
