A storm-water pipe that caused a sinkhole in Warren is under repair by the Macomb County Public Works Office.
Public Works employees began working on the pipe Friday after the sinkhole was discovered along the south side of Frazho east of Schoenherr. It was caused by an illegal connection of a storm drain that goes into the Red Run Drain in Sterling Hts.
The Macomb Daily reports Frazho Road remains open, with the eastbound lane partlyblocked.
The pipe is carrying storm water from an empty lot along Frahzo that had been the site of an elementary school, according to The Macomb Daily.
The sinkhole formed because the illegal connection was not sealed, allowing water to leak and undermine the soil above.
