A former MSU football player is scheduled to be sentenced today on a sexual assault charge.
21 year old Auston Robertson was accused of raping a 20 year old woman last year in her Meridian Township apartment.
However, in a plea deal, he was allowed to plead guilty to a lesser charge of assault.
The rape charge could have sent him to prison for up to 15 years.
He still faces up to more than 3 1/2 years in prison on the assault charge.
Robertson was dismissed from the football team after the incident, but was allowed to later transfer to a community college in Kansas where he joined the football team.
