Bump Shop Owner Due In Court In Dispute With Detroit

The Detroit businessman who hired private investigators to follow Mayor Mike Duggan has turned himself in after warrants were issued for fraud. It’s over ownership of some land.

Robert Carmack charged the city stole property from him and then sent the deed to another parcel as a consolation.
When city officials wouldn’t give him back the initial riverfront property, he sold the other plot, and now he’s charged with fraud and uttering and publishing.
The city filed a civil lawsuit. But the information was forwarded to Michigan State Police and the Genesee County prosecutor after Wayne County stepped aside.

Carmack showed a video around town with images of the mayor visiting a home in Novi. Duggan accused Carmack of trying to bully him into settling the land dispute.
