DTE says as long as hi winds are present, more outages will crop up. DTE vice-president Trevor Lauer says about 48-thousand homes and businesses are without electricity in SE Michigan. Large outage areas are in Brownstown Twp. and in Southfield. Lauer says 1-thousand crews are being assisted by about 200 crews from out of the state. The wind storm has affected the entire upper Midwest.
Consumers Energy says they have about 50-thousand outages in outstate Michigan.
