Minimum Wage Rises Today

Many Michigan workers just got a raise.

The state’s minimum wage for adults, as of today, is up to 9-dollars and 45-cents per hour.

That’s a 25-cent per hour increase.

For minors aged 16 and 17 years, your raise goes from $7.86 up to $8.03 per hour.

There is no change to the training wage of $4.25 per hour that may be paid to newly hired employees between the ages of 16 and 19 for the first 90 days of their employment.

Overtime requirements have not changed.

Non-exempt employees are to be paid time and a half for working more than 40 hours in a seven day week.
