Detroit Demo Contractor Center Of Charges

Federal prosecutors have issued charges against two former operatives in Detroit’s $250 million demolition program.

Two men are accused of getting thousands of dollars to steer demo work to contractors. The men are former employees of company that did a lot of work in tearing down houses. The mayor’s office says the city is fully cooperating with the probe,
The federal investigation began several years ago when demolition prices had skyrocketed. The city’s demolition program is managed by the Detroit Land Bank Authority and the Detroit Building Authority.
