Judge Exam On Docket

A preliminary exam was scheduled to resume today for embattled Livingston County District Court Judge Theresa Brennan.

Brennan has problems on two fronts.

Today’s hearing was to determine if she will be bound over for trial on three felony counts filed by the state Attorney General’s office.

She is accused of perjury in a deposition given during her divorce proceedings and tampering with evidence.

On another front, The Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission has asked the Michigan Supreme Court to remove her from the bench.

In a 34 page report, the commission said Brennan failed to disclose a relationship she had with a Michigan State Police Sgt who was a key witness in a murder trial she was presiding over and failed to immediately recuse herself from her own divorce case.
