Floods Prompt Rescues In Dearborn Heights

Flooding in SE Michigan is causing problems for people across the area as homes, cars, and other property are underwater.
Dearborn Heights fire crews are having to rescue people from their homes. The mayor, Dan Paletko, has asked the Gov. Whitmer to declare an emergency. the city and the Salvation Army have a shelter for people who are affected.

Freeways, roads and ramps were closed as pumps weren’t able to handle the water.

Other Downriver communities hit hard include Taylor, Lincoln Park, and Allen Park.
Flooding is also causing big problems on Detroit’s far east side.
Canals have overrun several streets.
The city will bring sandbags to the Jefferson Chalmers area.
