New No-Fault Law Signed

Michigan vehicle owners now have more options when it comes to auto insurance. Some of those choices will save you money.
Gov. Whitmer has signed into law a new auto insurance bill that supporters say will lower rates and will allow drivers to choose a level of medical coverage, and creates a new fee schedule for hospitals.

The new law stops insurers from setting rates based on non-driving factors, like zip codes and credit scores.
The effects of the law will be phased in, but won’t be felt for about a year.
