High Court Told To Boot Judge

The Michigan Supreme Court will consider the future of 53rd District Court Judge Theresa Brennan.
The State judicial Tenure Commission told the high court today it wants her removed from the bench because of misconduct.

A review by the commission determined that, among other charges, she had failed to disclose a relationship with a state police officer who was a key witness in a 2013 murder trial she was presiding over.

The commission wants her removed from the bench for one six-year term and ordered to pay court cost in excess of 35-thousand dollars.

Brennan is also facing felony charges that include perjury and destroying of evidence in her own divorce case.

A preliminary exam on those charge is scheduled for late August.
