P-FAS Hearings Coming

A sub-committee of the US House Oversight Committee will kick off the latest hearings into P-FAS, used for decades in everything from fire-retardant foam at airports, non-stick frying pans, and tanning solutions for leather, like at the old Wolverine Worldwide facility in west Michigan that used to make shoes.
P-FAS has been found in water in a growing number of sites.
Efforts to fund cleanups are far from being determined. Lawsuits claim manufacturers covered up the danger, and two lawsuits, in West Virginia and Minnesota, won big judgements.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel plans to file lawsuits over Michigan contaminations in the coming weeks. The state has yet to set maximum standards for P-FAS in drinking water.
