A Battle Creek-area woman is due in court today for the results of a competency hearing.
46 year old Marcia Lutz has been charged with burying the body of her 74 year old mother in her back yard.
The body had been found last January.
Investigators say the woman had died about four months earlier, had been wrapped in a blanket by the daughter and buried.
Police had gone to the home after members of the victim’s church had questioned her disappearance.
The daughter was arrested after being questioned by detectives.
Prosecutors say Lutz continued to cash her mothers social security checks after her death.
A hearing had been scheduled for earlier this year, but was postponed when an attorney asked that she be examined..
In a separate case, Lutz has been charged with embezzling nearly 40-thousand dollars from her church where she had worked as its treasurer.
