Activist In Court On Sex Charges

A man employed as a student liaison at a Hamtramck charter school is due in court today on charges he sexually assaulted an 18 year old mentally disabled male student.

37 year old Ibrahim Aljahim of Hamtramck worked at the Oakland International Academy High School.

Prosecutors say the incident happened on September 18th.

School officials say the alleged incident occurred in Aljahim’s car outside of the school.

He had worked at the school for four years.

According to his Facebook page, which has now been taken down, he had also worked as a public relations officer for an Arab-American civil rights group in Dearborn and had often been quoted in the media on issues related to Hamtramck’s large Arab-American and Muslim population.
