Wayne State University and elected officials announced a new scholarship called the Heart of Detroit Tuition Pledge.
Through this scholarship, students who graduate from any high school in Detroit starting with this year’s graduating class will receive free tuition to attend Wayne State.
The free tuition is good for those attending traditional public schools, charter schools or private schools and there is no restriction on family income.
The only restrictions are students must live in the city of Detroit and use the raise- me app to complete activities associated with student success. WSU says they would receive admission to Wayne State as a full time freshman in the fall of 2020.
