High Court Passes On Flint Lawsuit

The U-S Supreme Court refuses to hear a case that stems from the Flint water crisis.

The Supreme Court, without comment, rejected a review requested on behalf of Flint and state water regulators who want to block a lawsuit that claims they violated the rights of Flint residents by changing the source of drinking water in 20-14 and exposed them to high levels of lead. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of thousands of residents, who accuse the city of violating their bodily integrity. Bodily integrity has been acknowledged by various courts but is not in the U-S Constitution. Flint lawyers argue that the courts would create new environmental policy. The U-S Appeals Court ruled in favor of the residents. The Supreme Court allows the case to go forward.
