Schools, Groups Respond To CV

A ripple effect across Michigan after the first cases of coronavirus were confirmed.

Following the announcement that the virus finally made its way to Michigan, numerous colleges have moved classes to online only instruction. Large events are also being canceled.
UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN, U of M Dearborn, U of M Flint, Michigan State University, WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY, OAKLAND UNIVERSITY, EMU, MICHIGAN TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY AND CENTRAL MICHIGAN HAVE ALL ANNOUNCED THEY ARE MOVING TO online-only classes. Lawrence Tech is making changes. LTU is extending spring break by a week, and when students come back they’ll have online classes for a week. The university will reassess after that.

Michigan High School Athletic Association announced that all remaining winter postseason tournaments will continue as scheduled but it is finalizing plans that would either prohibit or only allow limited spectators at events.

This weekend’s boy’s swimming and diving finals will be held as scheduled at Oakland University and the Holland Aquatic Center, but there will be no on-site spectators. The events will be streamed live online.
