Former Tiger pitcher Evan Reed sentenced to probation

Former Tiger pitcher Evan Reed was sentenced to a years’ probation after pleading no-contest to aggravated sexual assault. He must also pay $4,480 in restitution and perform 120 hours of community service. Two counts of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct were dropped. A woman says she met Reed at a Royal Oak bar the evening before opening day in 2014, then went to a Detroit Hotel & Casino. She says she blacked out and awoke naked in bed with Reed. Reed says their sex was consensual.
