Funeral arrangements for Mel Farr have been set. A public viewing will take place next Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Swanson Funeral Home in Detroit. The funeral will be at noon Thursday at Christian Tabernacle Church in Southfield followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit.
The Detroit Lions running back finished his 7 year pro career with 3,072 yards rushing and 739 carries. He played in the 1968 & 1971 NFL Pro Bowl. Farr spent his entire football career with the Lions from 1967-1973. He went on to a second career selling cars. He was 70.
