Ferndale’s Road Diet Project Expected to Finish by Fall 2023

July 26, 2023 ~ Come fall of 2023, Woodward Avenue in the city of Ferndale is expected to look vastly different than it does now.

Under the Woodward Moves project, Ferndale and its neighboring municipality Pleasant Ridge are working with MDOT to reduce the number of car travel lanes, add bike lanes, and make the area between Eight Mile Road and I-696 more pedestrian friendly. WJR‘s Chris Renwick spoke to Ferndale City Manager Joseph Gacioch to learn more about the project.
