Whitmer Signs $57 Billion Fiscal Year 2024 Budget

Aug. 1, 2023 ~ Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed the fiscal year 2024 state budget Monday, the first since the Democrats took full control of the legislature.

The $57.4 billion budget signed Monday was in addition to Whitmer signing the state’s $24.3 billion education budget earlier this year, totaling $81.7 billion, according to the Detroit Free Press. The budget includes funding for infrastructure projects, fire department gear, business incentives, and affordable housing.
