UAW President “Shocked” by Biden’s Comments that A Strike is Unlikely as Sept. 14 Contract Deadline Approaches

Sept. 5, 2023 ~ A UAW strike is seemingly likely to happen as the Sept. 14 negotiation contract deadline approaches, though President Joe Biden does not seem to think it will happen.

Biden, who has touted himself as a strong supporter of unions during his presidency, said he believes the union and automakers will reach an agreement to prevent a strike, which “shockedUAW President Shawn Fain. However, UAW’s demands like a 46% pay raise and a 32-hour week have yet to be met by Ford Motor Co., General Motors, and Stellantis NV as Sept. 14 looms ahead.
