Sept. 14, 2023 ~ Ten legendary athletes and sports icons were inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame Thursday evening.
The 2023 class includes:
- Detroit Pistons player Richard Hamilton.
- Detroit Red Wings player Henrik Zetterberg.
- University of Michigan football player LaMarr Woodley.
- Michigan State University football player Lorenzo White.
- UofM softball player Sierra Romero.
- Sailboating captain Dawn Riley.
- MSU hockey player Ryan Miller.
- Sports agent and manager Colleen Howe.
- Hockey coach Rick Comley.
- Hockey broadcaster Mike Emrick.
Many of the inductees joined 760 WJR‘s “SportsWrap” to discuss joining the hall of fame, including White, who spoke about his career at MSU and how he, as a Florida native, ended up at the school.
“Being in Michigan, I like to say it is my second home,” White said.
