LANSING, Oct. 5, 2023 ~ The Michigan Senate passed a set of bills Wednesday along party lines to approve Gov. Gretchen Whitmer‘s Prescription Drug Affordability Board.

The board would consult a council of industry experts to review prescription drugs for affordability, cap prices for drugs, and block board members from lobbying while on the board and for several years after. The bills will move on to the State House next.

State Sen. Kristen McDonald Rivet (D-Bay City) was one of the senators who introduced the bills, and spoke more about them on “JR Morning with Guy Gordon, Lloyd Jackson, and Jamie Edmonds.”
