LOUISVILLE, KY, Oct. 12, 2023 ~ In a surprise move Wednesday evening, UAW announced a massive expansion in its strike against Ford Motor Co.

The union told the 8,700 UAW members at Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant to strike, the plant being the automaker’s largest and most profitable. The automaker said the union’s decision to strike was “grossly irresponsible” and will cause “industrial chaos,” while UAW president Shawn Fain said the union was pushed to strike the plant when Ford failed to make any movement in recent negotiations.
