Jim Harbaugh: From Wolverines to Chargers

ANN ARBOR, Jan. 25, 2024 ~ After nine seasons in Ann Arbor, with his last winning a national title, Jim Harbaugh announced he will be leaving the Michigan Wolverines.

Harbaugh will now chase a Super Bowl ring with the Chargers.

Which some may call crazy, he turned down an $125 million offer from Michigan to instead embark on his coaching career in the NFL. On Wednesday, Harbaugh officially signed a five-year contract as head coach for the Los Angeles Chargers.

(CONTINUED) Despite NCAA violations and alleged cheating in 2023, Harbaugh was still considered a desirable candidate in the NFL. Although some may claim he is bailing on Michigan amid the scandal, Harbaugh says he will always be a loyal Wolverine.

With Jim Harbaugh’s transition to the NFL, the University of Michigan will now be seeking a new head football coach.
