LANSING, Feb. 15, 2024 ~ State Rep. Josh Schriver (R-Oxford) has been expelled from a committee after he shared a social media post regarding a known white supremacist conspiracy theory.

House Speaker Joe Tate (D-Detroit) made the decision Monday to remove Schriver from the House Natural Resources, Environment, Tourism, and Outdoor Recreation Committee after he shared a photo from right-wing figure Jack Posobiec on X, formerly Twitter, featuring the “great replacement” theory. This conspiracy, widely asserted as racist and dangerous, perpetuates a notion that collective efforts exist to replace white populations with other races of people, many times using antisemitism to push the theory. Schriver has also been in hot water recently when he called for transgender healthcare to be banned for adults and children.
