DETROIT, Feb. 26, 2024 ~ Former President Donald Trump appeared this afternoon on “‘JR Afternoon with Chris Renwick” as part of his campaign efforts for today’s Michigan presidential primary.
During the wide-ranging conversation, Trump focused mainly on his presumptive general election opponent, President Joe Biden, with little attention paid to his primary opposition, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Hayley.
“She hasn’t won anything,” Trump said. “She’s in last place every time. Even (Florida Governor Ron) DeSantis beat her … She’s become a joke.”

(CONTINUED) Trump went on to address his legal troubles, which he claims have all been fabricated by his opponents as a means to discredit him.
“These are started by DOJ (Department of Justice) and Biden’s people, because he can’t get elected any other way,” Trump told Renwick. “But it’s had an opposite effect … my numbers have gone higher, because people see it’s a hoax.”
Trump currently faces 43 federal and 48 state criminal charges. He has been ordered to pay $454 million in a New York civil fraud trial. Additionally, he faces inditement on charges related to the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection, inditement after he refused to return top-secret federal documents, and indictment for attempting to overturn Georgia‘s 2020 election results.
Trump has also been ordered to pay $83.3 million in a civil lawsuit for defaming author E. Jean Carroll after a jury found him liable for sexually abusing her.
