AUGUSTA, Georgia ~ April 14, 2024 ~ The seeming inevitability of a second Masters win became reality Sunday for Scottie Scheffler.

The 27-year-old Texan, who went into Augusta National Golf Club this past weekend as the No. 1 player in the game, started his day leading by a single shot. The lead then bobbled between contenders through the first handful of holes, with a four-way tie for first near the 8th. Then at the turn, Scheffler’s collected and poised performance delivered triple birdies, breaking him free from the pack on his way towards claiming his second green jacket.

Sweden’s Ludvig Åberg, who was attempting to become the first golfer to win the Masters in a debut appearance since Fuzzy Zoeller in 1979, came in second by 4 strokes.
