Student Encampment at University of Michigan Enters its Fourth Week

DETROIT, May 13, 2024 ~ Despite graduation taking place over a week ago, student activists at the University of Michigan continue to camp out at the University Diag to demand the school divest from Israel.

The U-M Gaza solidarity encampment entered its fourth week Monday, having grown to over four dozen tents as the death toll from Israel’s military campaign in Gaza topped 35,000 people, mostly women and children. The student encampment in Michigan remains peaceful as crackdowns continue on student protests in support of Palestine continue across the world.
