Detroit City Football Club Purchases Abandoned Detroit Hospital to Build New Stadium

DETROIT, May 20, 2024 ~ The Detroit City Football Club announced Thursday that it had purchased the land of an abandoned hospital in Southwest Detroit to build a new soccer stadium.

The property contains the long-abandoned Southwest Detroit Hospital in Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood, where the club will move from Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck. The club hopes to open the new stadium by the 2027 season.
