Some Michigan Democrat Congress Members Still Supporting Biden Amid Calls for Him to Step Down


MICHIGAN, July 11, 2024 ~ For now, many high-profile Michigan Democrats remain supportive of President Joe Biden‘s candidacy for president, even as other Democrat lawmakers are calling on him to resign.

U.S. Reps. Debbie Dingell (MI-6), Haley Stevens (MI-11), and Shri Thanedar (MI-13) recently appeared on WJR programming to restate their support of Biden running for president following his disastrous debate performance against former President Donald Trump. While he acknowledged that people have concerns over Biden’s age, Thanedar said that the president has accomplished a lot during his presidency and is behind “100%.” Dingell said that the party needs to focus on defeating Trump, though has heard lots of concerns behind the scenes.
