MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin, July 15, 2024 ~ J.D. Vance was tapped as Donald Trump’s vice presidential running mate on Monday, ending months of speculation as to who would join the presumptive presidential nominee atop the Republican ticket.

After lengthy deliberation and thought, and considering the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that the person best suited to assume the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator J.D. Vance of the Great State of Ohio,” Trump said through a statement issued on Truth Social.

(CONTINUED) Vance, who is the junior senator from The Buckeye State, gained prominence back in 2016 after the release of his best-selling memoir, “Hillbilly Elegy,” a passionate and personal analysis of the white working-class American culture that he was raised in.

His stance as a “Never Trumper” changed over the years, eventually earning the endorsement of Trump in the 2022 Senate race, and solidifying Vance as a fervent MAGA loyalist.

Vance’s Senate term has allowed him to articulate a brand of economic populism that supports working class Americans while embracing values voters through strict right-to-life policies and an opposition to gender affirming treatments and therapies.

If successful, the 39-year-old conservative will become the first Millennial to be elected to the Executive Branch of American government.

Vance is expected to accept his nomination as the Republican Party’s vice presidential nominee during a speech scheduled for Wednesday night.
