EAST LANSING, August 23, 2024 ~ Instead of spending Thanksgiving at home, Michigan State Basketball will head to Hawaii to play in the Maui Invitational.

Tipping off Nov. 25, Michigan State will face Colorado in their first game. If they were to advance to the second round, they would play either Memphis or the defending champions, the UConn Huskies. The rest of the field includes Iowa State, Auburn, Dayton, and North Carolina, who defeated the Spartans in the second round of the NCAA Tournament last season.

(CONTINUED) The Spartan’s last won the tournament in 1991. This will be MSU’s sixth appearance on the island after taking fifth place in their last try at the championship in 2019.

This will be the first time since 2003 that Michigan State will see Colorado on the basketball court. The green and white took the victory by 15 points in that matchup, helping boost their all-time series lead against the Buffaloes to 3-1.
