EAST LANSING, August 30, 2024 ~ No. 4 Michigan State Women’s Soccer graduate midfielder Emily Mathews scored her first goal of the season midway through last night’s match to notch a 1-0 win over Ole Miss at DeMartin Stadium. The three points marked the first victory over an opponent from the SEC for the Spartans since 2004.

Mathews’ goal tallied the first points of her career wearing the green and white in the 52nd minute. Fellow graduate Meg Hughes recorded her third straight game with a point yesterday after assisting Mathews on the score.
