PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 11, 2024 ~ Presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump met in Philadelphia Tuesday evening for a one-on-one debate, with audience reception leaning in Harris’ favor.
Snap polls conducted after the debate by news outlets like CNN, The Washington Post, and Newsweek showed that more debate watchers thought Harris won the debate over Trump as the candidates fought to win over moderates. Trump attacked Harris over immigration and her perceived lack of policies, all while making false claims about rising crime in the U.S. and that Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio are eating local pets.
