DETROIT, Sept. 17, 2024 ~ The UAW and locals representing thousands of members have filed contract grievances against Stellantis.
Union officials say the automaker is attempting to move production of the Dodge Durango from Detroit to Canada, arguing that the move would violate their contract. It is the latest action taken against the car maker by the union, which also filed unfair labor practice charges with the National Labor Relations Board, accusing the company of failing to provide information about plans for product commitments.

(CONTINUED) UAW President Shawn Fain said in a statement the union won major gains in the last contract, which included reopening an idled assembly plant in Belvidere, Illinois, and a promise to build the Dodge Durango in Detroit. He added the union won the right to strike over those commitments. Stellantis has not commented on the union’s filing.
