NEW YORK CITY Oct. 2, 2024 ~ Vice presidential candidates JD Vance and Tim Walz practically tied with their performances during Tuesday night’s debate, according to viewer polls.
A CBS News poll found that 42% of viewers through Vance won the debate, compared to Walz’s 41%, with 17% thinking it was a tie. CNN saw a similar result in its poll, with 51% of viewers favoring Vance’s performance and Walz receiving 49%. Political analyst Mario Morrow told WJR that the debate was largely civil and focused on policy.
