DETROIT, Oct. 23, 2024 ~ On Tuesday, former President Barack Obama and rapper Eminem headlined an event at Huntington Place to campaign for Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

The event took place two weeks before the Nov. 5 election, with the key swing state of Michigan expected to be one of the handful of states that will decide the election. Obama rapped verses from Eminem’s hit song “Lose Yourself” before saying, “Detroit, we have a chance to choose a new generation of leadership in this country, to start building a better, and stronger, and fairer and more hopeful America. Let me tell you, your vote is going to matter, because we know this election is going to be tight.” On Saturday, Harris and former first lady Michelle Obama will make a campaign stop in Kalamazoo.
