PODCAST:

Oct. 27, 2024 ~ Founded in 1985 by Esther Gordy Edwards, the Motown Museum is committed to preserving, protecting, and presenting the Motown story through authentic, inspirational, and educational experiences. Announced in late 2016, the Motown Museum expansion will grow to a nearly 50,000-square-foot entertainment and education tourist destination featuring interactive exhibits, a performance theater, recording studios, an expanded retail experience, and meeting spaces designed by renowned architects and exhibit designers. Robin Terry, chairwoman and CEO of Motown, said that the new museum campus will have a transformative impact on the surrounding Detroit neighborhoods when completed.

The Warren Symphony Orchestra is set with its new season and this year, in addition to K-12 students getting free admission, first responders and veterans receive that same gift from the orchestra as well. WSO spokesperson Julie Nemeth says the orchestra will celebrate its 51st year under the direction of conductor Andrew Neer. She says the orchestra was founded after community members learned several local high schools would suspend their music and band classes. Since then, thousands of students have watched a professional musical experience in Warren at no cost to them.
