MSU Football Eyeing Revenge on the Road Against Rival Michigan

EAST LANSING, October 25, 2024 ~ Michigan State football (4-3) will travel to Ann Arbor Saturday evening for a primetime showdown against rival University of Michigan (4-3). After last year’s blowout loss, amid sign stealing allegations, the Spartans will be looking to leave the Big House this year with the Paul Bunyan Trophy for the first time since 2020.

While rival week festivities have kicked off in East Lansing, players and coaches have been preparing for a Wolverines team that is looking to get back into the win column after a two week losing skid. Michigan’s defense has been the team’s calling card this season and in the past, but with the questionable injury status of star cornerback and Grosse Pointe native Will Johnson, the green and white offense will be looking to expose potential weaknesses without UofM’s top overall player.

(CONTINUED) After a 49-yard performance capped off with a rushing touchdown last Saturday against Iowa, running back Nate Carter is focused on executing the game plan against a stout Michigan run defense.

“We understand it’s a big game, a rivalry, and they have some good players over there,” Carter told WJR Correspondent Nick Lundberg. “It’s going to be another challenge offensively to find schemes to properly execute.”

After only committing two turnovers over the past two games, sophomore quarterback Aidan Chiles will need to continue these types of performances in order to not give the advantage to the maize and blue.

Kickoff is set for 7:40 p.m on Big Ten Network
