LANSING, Nov. 18, 2024 ~ Attendance problems could be causing problems for Michigan House Democrats, who are trying to push through legislation in the lame-duck session before the chamber goes back under the control of Republicans on Jan. 1.
State Rep. Karen Whitsett (D-Detroit) was absent from Tuesday’s session last week, making it challenging to pass a slate of Democratic priorities with the caucus’ slim 56-54 majority.
