MICHIGAN, Nov. 19, 2024 ~ Michigan‘s Senator-elect Elissa Slotkin is concerned about some of President-elect Donald Trump‘s nominees for his cabinet, particularly with Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth.

Hegseth, a former army major and current Fox News commentator, has many raising eyebrows and alarm over his nomination due to his past anti-Islam statements, saying that women should not serve in the military, being accused of sexual assault, and convincing Trump to pardon convicted U.S. war criminals. He also has tattoos of a Jerusalem cross and of the “Deus Vult” phrase (meaning “god wills it,”) both associated with the far right.
