DETROIT, Nov. 26, 2024 ~ Bedrock and General Motors have announced a plan to redevelop the Renaissance Center and its surrounding area, aiming to transform the iconic Detroit landmark into a mixed-use destination.
The redevelopment plan includes the demolition of two of the office towers, along with the low-rise base of the Renaissance Center, with new public spaces and a pedestrian-friendly promenade to take their places. The vision, proposed by Detroit billionaire Dan Gilbert and GM after months of speculation on the future of the Renaissance Center, includes a six-acre riverfront park, residential units, and hospitality uses.
