OXFORD, MI, Jan. 14, 2025 ~ A lawsuit filed by an attorney representing Jennifer Crumbley, the mother of the Oxford High School shooter, accuses the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office of utilizing multiple methods of running a “smear campaign” against the parents of the shooter.

Attorney Micheal Deszi filed the report Monday, claiming the attorney’s office spent $100,000 on two public relations firms to run a negative portrayal of the parents, along with violating a judge’s gag order by allowing behind-the-scenes access to a Washington Post reporter and making an agreement with ABC to film a documentary. Both Jennifer and James Crumbley were given prison sentences last year on involuntary manslaughter convictions after their son Ethan Crumbley killed four of his classmates and injured seven others in a 2021 school shooting.
