Funeral services are scheduled today for Mel Farr. The former Detroit Lions running back died earlier this month following a lengthy illness. He was 70. Today’s funeral will take place at noon at the Christian Tabernacle Church on Franklin Road in Southfield. Internment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit. Farr spent his entire football career with the Lions from 1967-1973 before going on to attain success as Mel Farr, superstar car salesman. At one time he owned a dozen dealerships in several states.
