We could hear more soon about the mystery texter at the center of a Lansing sex scandal. Private investigators hired by state Rep. Cindy Gamrat say they have identified the person who owns the phone number used to send her and Rep. Todd Courser text messages that threatened to reveal their relationship if they didn’t resign, according to Gamrat spokesman Justin Near. Near said he wouldn’t release the person’s name until the investigators get another source to confirm it. When that happens he said her lawyers will release the name publicly and give the evidence to authorities.
