Don’t like those smart meters?
New high-tech meters designed to measure the electricity we use in our homes have caused a flap all across the country. In our area, DTE has been installing the meters. But accusations of big brother snooping have made the meters controversial.
The concerns include safety with the radio frequency radiation emitted from the meters, but also the cumulative effect of various types of technology and other devices in addition to the meters, as well as the use of multiple meters in a neighborhood.
Tonight, there will be an informational meeting over smart meters at 6pm at the Harper Woods City Hall.
