A Detroit area drug dealer who has spent nearly 30 years in prison for crimes going back to his teen years will be re-sentenced. 46-year-old Richard Wershe, also known as “White Boy Rick”, went before Wayne County Circuit Judge Dana Hathaway. The judge set the sentencing date for September 18. Wershe has been asking to be re-sentenced for years. The former drug dealer and police informant was busted at age 17. He has served 28 years behind bars. The law that sent Wershe to jail for life is no longer in effect.
